We have a fuel chauffage, some dbl glazing and 50cm thick walls. There is a well in the garden, but that is across the Impasse from the house....

We're currently thinking of having a (reversible) air/air heat-exchanger installed - my in-laws have just had theirs for a couple of weeks and are pleased with it so far. So I'll be waiting a little longer to see it it is really efficient over a longer period. You might also consider that, unless you have a well in your garden, which would be even more efficient.

> Solar energy may be fine for heating though (my neighbor's pool operates so) but makes little sense as to power household equipment as the electricity market has long been organized (and still is dominated) by the state, with the highest percentage of nuke power in the world (>70%). Comparing to next door Switzerland kw are a bargain. The next generation will hate us for that I presume.
