I played with softening the effect of the screen, but decided to accentuate
it since this was one of the very few times I didn't shoot the bloom in the
wild.

I get what you are saying, but on the other hand the curves of the leaves
and vase along with the white (a relatively negative space,) make for what
I think is a look-around composition. I hoped the bokeh of the screen with
the bushes outside would corral the flower, and that's a reason for leaving
the strong suggestion of the window edge to the left.  I might have
overworked it, but I still like it in an impressionist sort of way.
