Herbert,

I thought about your remark, and was curious;  why do you consider the
light flat on that image?  I thought the tiny blooms were well modeled with
overhead soft light in that nearly 1:1 image.

I almost always approach flowers in shady or overcast light, as I've found
colors tend to come out truer without highlight bloom.  Sometimes, (as in
this case,) I came back to them when I could shoot in the shade, as anytime
I've photographed Lantana, the colors often go off in high key lighting.
