I’m confused: what would an M with autofocus look like? Wouldn’t it be the SL? An autofocus rangefinder camera would have to have some way to show where the focus has been set - so something like an EVF. Plus none of the current M lenses are autofocus and the M mount has no way to sense anything the lens is doing beyond it’s characteristics via the zebra code. Which, to me, implies a modification to the M mount to allow for auto-diaphragm control, control signals for the focus mechanism plus power. It just doesn’t make sense to me.
So if it’s autofocus you want it’ll be the SL or the S if you want to use Leica glass to best advantage.
