Must reconsider my options......
I could wait till they p1ss me off enough that I drop the CC... and just before my SW turns to mush, TIFF everything.....

Why don't you just store another copy of the processed image as a TIFF file? Storage is relatively inexpensive nowadays! You can also store it as a DNG file, but as you do not trust them......
