I suggest "The Traveler's Tree" by Patrick Leigh Fermor, it has the most
vivid and spooky description of Haitian voodoo rituals you will find
anywhere! One of the very greatest travel books ever written, IMHO the only
one that runs it close is 'The Colossus of Maroussi" by, of all the people,
Henry Miller!
