Are you really bumping up something (contrast, colour, vibrance etc) in these shots?

The countryside around Veñales is very strange.  The hills are called Mogotes,  isolated steep-sided residual hills, which are composed of either limestone <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limestone>, marble <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marble>, or dolomite <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolomite> and surrounded by nearly flat alluvial plains.
