Hi Herb,
Sorry mate you are partially correct.  But I am REALLY CORRECT!

Here's the difference.
1/ Your definition? Is correct. If it were an amateur learning grab-shooting just missing the complete shadow "which was there!" mille-seconds before!

"Lluis" as we all know, rarely ever misses the 100% perfect frame! Which should have been the case here with complete shadow. And his talent and quick of "SEE- CLICK!" Unfortunately "HE MISSED THE WHOLE PERFECT FRAME!' 

The difference between your comment and mine?  

I'm a mean "TOUGH-PHOTO EDITOR" trained by some of the most mean-assed Mother Photo editors over 65 years who could make you cry when you think you have a "cool image!" Then they would take a big  pair of scissor-shears and cut, "Your glorious photo" to ribbons! Not in private! But right in front of other photographers and everyone received a lesson on improvement and only the best will/would do!

Your response of... "“So what!”.<<??? If I or one of the other photographers responded with that kind of "amateur retort?"  You collected your last pay cheque on the way out! 

Photography in a group as we are, little things slip by. For me in many cases to be absolutely ice cutting mean-assed all in the line of teaching/assisting/helping/encouraging / whatever? I do not say anything as I  don't want to hurt some ones feelings! Often I have sent a private note. WHY? To avoided the tirade of re-buttal's covering a week or weeks of endless chatter! Usually by those who disagree!

Am I a perfect editor?  "NOT ON YOUR COTTEN-PICKING LIFE!"

But Lluis is a super talented gifted photographer! We see it daily! So when a mean-assed mother as myself can be? I'm not going to let a dear friend talented photographer as Lluis is! Get away with shooting an Amateur result photo!!" Yeah it's not bad for a guy in an amateur camera club!

BUT Luis? NEVER!
