Ce reportage nous intéresse beaucoup ! Un retour dans le passé très agréable...  Et de magnifiques images ! Bon,  ok, c'est du Fuji...  mais je ne fais aucun commentaire sur le matériel,  j'peux plus !

Sorry if I don't answer all your nice replies, questions, remarks and comments.

In short, yes the country is rural and extremely peaceful.
No there aren't so many cars, and the drivers are not reckless so far as I could see on a 1500km tour.
The heads in the gutter I haven't found an explanation for so far.
People seem to be living at a normal, easy going and relax human pace (quite a change from hectic here).
Lots of young people, healthy for all I know. The only Jim S shot was most likely a tourist.
