[Leica] M9 coming home

Actually, Leica isn't offering the trade.  You need to go through a dealer to get the trade.  They are replacing sensors with sensors on hand, but announced an enhanced sensor, and sometime around now, the switch will be made.  I don't know if I made the cut.  The new type sensor has an improved glass filter cover on it, otherwise, the formula is said to be the same.
