I’m beginning to process some of the photos I took in Africa.

This set is from Zanzibar’s Stone Town and a small resort (not recommended) at the far northern tip of the island. I will say the beach was nice and the food at the place next door, served on the beach after sunset, was delectable.

There was a blocks-long string of housing we passed left over from the old socialist days. The buildings aren’t doing that well but its inhabitants find ways to bring life to it:

Zanzibar is heavily Muslim and it was Ramadan to boot. As we walked the streets of Stone Town we met this pair. I love the need for color.

We were the exotics here. This young lady peeked out of her home’s doorway to watch us pass.

This may be my favorite image of the day. I love the decoration of the home. It says something incredibly positive to me.

Any trip to Zanzibar requires a photo of a Dhow. Here’s one sailing along the west coast of Zanzibar. Just over the horizon is the continent of Africa which I still find incredibly exotic.

This is Isak who was our guide and translator for much of our stay. Isak is from Iringa. We’d eventually get there after some fairly brutal drives. But for this day we’re just getting to know each other.

All of these were shot with the Sony A7ii and the 28-70mm f4 zoom lens.

Your comments/suggestions/critique are most welcome and invited.

Thanks for looking!

Adam
