[Leica] Some wide angle M glass (CV) on the Sony A7Rii

I read one review that stated that since the sensor cover glass is the same on ALL A7 cameras, there will be little difference in the performance with WA lenses, especially Leica Glass...

So the A7rII should be no better than the A7.... in this regard.....

OTOH, how good, by comparison is the Zeiss Batis, Loxia, or co-branded Sony-Zeiss glass to Leica M glass?
THAT is the question I want to know the answer to....

I tried the Nikon glass and that did not hold a candle to Leica..... ( 50mm ASPH Lux compared to 5 different samples of 50/1.4 Nikkor in various age categories, including most recent)

Was it good enough? Probably.... for MY purposes..... Which means I could swap my Leica stuff for a bag of Sony + Zeiss AF ( or not) stuff.... (and be dollars ahead....)

My take: contrary to some gushing reviews the A7Rii is not the best camera for shooting M mount glass on the planet.

BUT Its better than my M8. Both of these lens dont work well on the M8, especially the 15mm which has huge color casts in the magenta at the periphery making it useless. I can produce examples.

But its a lot better than the original A7R. I havent tried either lens on the A7ii yet either.

I was actually surprised they did so well!

The widest Leica glass I have is the 35mm f2.0 aspherical which Im eager to try and compare with the Loxia 35mm f2.0.

The Loxia has the advantage on the A7 of automatically zooming in to aid focus - a feature my aging eyes appreciate.
