Hi Leland you will be on your own assessing the value to you of course and
that affected by what deals where. I have owned the M9 for a couple of
years and now the M (typ 240) for about 12 months of active shooting. So I
can comment on the different features and performance that matter to me.
I would say at least a stop better in noise performance. 50% faster frame
rate if you want continuous. You cannot fill the buffer shooting rapid
sequences on single. Very long battery life if that matters. I have shot
1100 in a day without running out of power. The rf is actually a little
better due to design and calibration changes. You can use the live view to
check if the rf and your lenses are correct too. You can use it for precise
framing or when it is hard to get your eye to the eyepiece and of course
any adapted Len like for close up can be used with that too.
The resolution is higher. I never noticed a lack with the M9 really. The
sensor seems to be better in edge performance with real wides.
You lose the USB port (unless you buy the expensive multi grip). It is
heavier due mainly to a twice as large battery I guess.
