[Leica] IMG: Drogheda Shooting

One of the reasons I went into Dublin was to look this incident up in the 
National Library of Ireland. They store all newspaper and other records 
there.

My grandfather beside his bullet riddled car in July 1933. My nine year old 
mother was in bed in the house at the time and woke up as the house windows 
shattered.

Intelligence indicated it was the local IRA. This was post Civil War and the 
disaffected anti-treaty side had hung on to their guns, and perhaps watched 
too many gangster films....

My grandfather died in his bed and not from a lucky shot - it was TB 
instead. He was only 58 and was head of the Detective Unit.
