Poncho was very aggressive and used to try to attack Tom as he mowed the
yard on the riding lawn mower. One day he succeeded and fell into the
blade. After his feet were chopped off, he was morose and refused to leave
the chicken house, just waiting for somebody to bring him food and water.
Then we got two new roosters and Poncho suddenly decided he'd better learn
how to walk on his stumps. He goes anywhere he wants now. He still rounds
his hens up and protects them from the adolescent roosters.
