The incomparable Leica M9, a fire exit propped open and a precarious ladder to a causeway above give a view of the stage not known by people even in the most expensive seats. During periods of high action (sword fights and shouting) the M9’s quiet shutter is unnoticed by the cast and audience members. In the quiet, final moments of the play, when nearly everyone is dead, the last lines are spoken, in a theater where you can hear the tears begin to well in the audience members eyes, the WHIK-CHUNK-WHERRR! of the shutter, now like the sound of an imploding building in a sea of silence, draws the eyes of the actors directly to you, creating a priceless image, possible only with this camera.

M9, 28mm f2.8 Minolta Rokkor, ladder.
