I once missed a terrorist bomb by 30 minutes at Canary Wharf...I haven't stopped visiting London! :-) These things are all in the mind. Most places, I would guess, are pretty safe except for random events. Again, my instinct tells me it is far more unsafe to cross busy roads in big cities on a regular basis!
