Hi Nathan,
In our cases, mine in the past. We were rarely allowed time for site seeing
as there was always the next event on the other side of the world and away
you went right after Closing Ceremonies. :-(

Sometimes during the Games we'd have a half a day to site-see if you wished.
However after doing 3 or 4 days of near 19 hour days in the heat of the day,
time off was usually for body and brain rejuvenation and not picture taking.
Unfortunately.:-(

Sounds similar to some business trips, although I do usually manage to make
time to enjoy the places I visit.
