To me, http://www.pbase.com/tinamanley/image/157064816 has some 'ugly' bokeh on the LHS, the leaves on the left of the tree in http://www.pbase.com/tinamanley/image/157064826 have 'nervous' bokeh...

To me 'bokeh' is something where the OOF make pleasant shapes rather than harsh or misshapen e.g. http://johnmcmaster.com/PAW/2014/24/content/L2005046_large.html

PESO:

I took 3 photos this morning to try to illustrate what bokeh is, in answer
to a question from a beginning photographer. I used the 35/2.0 (king of
bokeh) Summicron.

Hit Original to view them larger.

What do you think? Do these illustrate bokeh? What else would you suggest
to help her understand bokeh?

TIA
