[Leica] OT: Weird e-mail issue

I'm stumped. For the past few days, basically since we left home on Sunday, I have been unable to send e-mail from my normal Frozenlight account using my laptop. The computer just tells me that my SMTP server is offline. That's why the last few messages I have posted on the list have been sent from my Gmail account.

However, I have no problem sending messages from my Frozenlight account using my iPad. The fact that this message made it to the list is proof.

Now, I have checked and re-checked that the outgoing server configurations on my iPad and on my Macbook Pro are identical. Yet, the same server, with the same access credentials, works fine on the iPad but not on the Macbook. What gives?
