Incidentally, fireworks are banned here in Ireland and any naughty people who use them are liable to a maximum fine of ?10,000 or to imprisonment for up to 5 years, or to both, depending on the particular judge. That said the nights around Hallowe'en are riven with explosions, as the country and its mother, in the days leading up to Hallowe'en, have hunted down overpriced illegal bangers and rockets. The result? Pillars of both church and society regularly blow their fingers off in the midst of covert fireworks displays for their children. We're allowed to have black cats though.
