I just reached Greece. Of what I have seen so far, the bell ringer in the Czech Republic and Cathy in Gibraltar are my favourites. You got a surprising number of smiles in Germany ;-) It is true that in some (but not all) European countries people value their privacy a lot. But as is evident from your collection, there is quite a bit of variation among the countries, and even among different age groups within the same country. And on a final note, being a woman must have made it easier to do this kind of photography.
