I'm in the same position, as I have a new pc - got this week - I have to move to, as this one is acting up for the past while. I currently use a paid for Abobe PSE15 and Lightroom 6 which I have on CD safely tucked away somewhere - safe from everyone, including myself, unfortunately. Not that it's likely I can use it on another pc anyway, and my new Dell hasn't got an optical drive. I resent paying more than once for anything, so have decided to switch to something else which doesn't require a subscription. That said I do minimal work on any of my photos, as I prefer to do the work in the camera, so my manipulation needs are minimal. I haven't bought AP since about 2006, so will investigate it tomorrow in my local newsagents.
