I stayed in the old - and very cool with its faded Art Nouveau glamour - Grand Hotel Europa on Wenceslas Square. I wasn't there for a holiday - more my hobby - as I was inspecting the course for the World Mountain Running Championships at Male Svatanovice near Upice in the Krkonose mountains. The following year I returned as the Irish team was competing. Always intended to go back, but life intruded. My cousin who is attached to the Irish Embassy there tells me I won't be able to get those litres of excellent Czech beer for 50p any more... I like your recumbent woman resting and framed by the spouting water. Douglas On 07/06/2022 10:43, James Handsfield wrote: > Wandering around the old city yesterday.
