If I buy a 24MP Nikon or Fuji (both systems I already have lenses for) and effect the conversion, I would end up with a 40-45MP monochrome camera. The results from this would not be materially different enough from converting files to B&W taken on a Nikon D850 or Z7, to be worth the additional cost or effort.
