The influx is more than the imbedded culture can acclimate. As you move away from the downtown and west of campus Austin gets closer to suburbia everything. The hikes in property taxes are driving out the start-ups to the smaller towns in the vicinity. Still a very nice place to live and go to college in but changing quickly. Who knows, maybe Joe Rogan and Elon Musk can trigger the old time wierdness.
