I have been using Photokit Sharpener ever since I started using digital,
and I think Tina still does, as well. I see there is still a free Mac
download still available. This is a three part sharpening workflow
(capture, creative, print) which was excellent for scanned images:

The other option is to try and get Google's last free version of the Nik
Suite, which includes a good quality sharpening program, Dfine. I have the
Windows download - if that is any use to you, I can send it across.
