I had my first house on the market from March 1982 to Sept '84 and dropped a notional 12.5% on it, but the real hurt was the interest on the bridging loan which was around 12% per annum for two and a half years. Didn't buy socks, let alone cameras, for a few years after that. Best of luck finding the new house.
