I will echo Phillipes comment about the state of the track. I was just on our main line and the track is straight and true for miles. The track in the yards is wobbly in all dimensions which I assume truly limits speeds and loads. Cost is always a consideration but making the union guy responsible for safety is a mite unfair; especially if the soils are like the clay here which move around a lot based on soil moisture.
