My parents got it for me for h.s. graduation, with a used Canon collapsible 50mm f/1.9 (IIRC) screw-mount lens. About 6 years later, seduced by the SLR concept, I sold it to buy a Canon FT-QL. I got a first-gen SL in the mid-70s. I still have it and will never part with it. I returned to the RF fold in about 1980, when I became the keeper (analogous to what one does with a bonsai) of a DS M3 with DR Summicron. This too will go to my photographer son, who is burdened with my sentimentality and attachment to certain things that are imbued with a spiritual aspect for the owner, and will never part with it either. God, is this unsociable distancing making me morbid, or what? ? ?howard > On Apr7, 2020, at 1726, Richard Man <richard at richardman.photo> wrote: > > Just idle wondering, how many people still have their first Leica? and if > you still have it, is it one of those "I will never sell my first love, or > any Leica", or "I can let it go, but why?" > > -- > "Some People Drive, We Are Driven" > https://richardman.photo > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
