AOPA is currently encouraging the creation of new clubs. But, you are correct, the cost of private flying has escalated. The only King Airs on the field are owned by a fellow who sold his inherited company to a conglomerate, and another who owns a string of automobile dealerships.? There are quite a few Cessnas and Bonanzas, as well as a charter company with two Dassault Falcons.
