The Takumar shows a much more pleasing background than the new lens. Hard to judge other qualities on a small image. With a new feeder and my tripod set behind clean window glass, I was watching the birds checking out the feeder. This Downy Woodpecker was caught with the Takumar and manual focus. http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/20190313-P3137837.JPG.html The 50-200 arrived at my door, so I mounted it in the same spot and, using Autofocus, caught this group at the breakfast bar. http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/20190314-P3147844.JPG.html I have to get a lot more experience with the new lens, but this comparison did show me that the old Takumar is not too bad in its own right. -- Jim Nichols Tullahoma, TN USA
