I see no reason in mentioning "grain?" in the photo of your Aunt Rachel ? However it must have been because you were looking at a print? As I see it as an interesting portrait type photo print sans "grain" of nice soft lighting. But then? You're there and I'm on the west coast of Canada in our Smokey forest fire smoke trying to breath "air??? "cough, cough, cough!!!!!!!!! :-( cheers, ted -----Original Message----- From: LUG [mailto:lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Nathan Wajsman Sent: August-23-18 10:58 AM To: Leica Users Group; Olympus Camera Discussion Subject: [Leica] Nathan's PAD 22/8/2018: the one good image on a roll of film I am cheating a bit; the picture was taken in Madrid about 3 weeks ago, but I only got the negatives back from the lab last week and scanned this roll yesterday. The negatives on this roll of HP5+ are too dense; I am not sure if I overexposed the entire roll or (more likely) the lab overdeveloped it. Perhaps their process is not suited to classical emulsions like this one; two rolls of Ilford Delta film in the same shipment were developed perfectly (the lab is Carmencita in Valencia). In any event, there was one picture on this otherwise semi-failed roll that I really like. I took some other photos of my aunt Rachel when I met her in Madrid during my day trip there, but this one is by far the best of the lot, grain and all: https://www.greatpix.eu/All/Picture-A-Day/i-GCcrLbz/A The lens was a collapsible 50mm Summicron.
