Ted,
For most of your illustrious career, you obviously just handed over the
roll of exposed film to a guy in the newspaper/magazine darkroom, and he
did the rest, so I guess that was a perfect KISS. I agree, I would not mind
having such a facility to turn to in these digital times, but
unfortunately, not having one, I am forced to do my own dirty work! ?

My view is that a RAW image is like an unexposed roll of film, which can
then be processed a million different ways instead of just one fixed way.
Being of a curious bent of mind, and not having to do this for a living, as
well as having ample time to spare, I enjoy tinkering around with myriad
different approaches when processing an image..That is brilliant and
extremely enjoyable. Nothing in the world will let me forego that
flexibility and pleasure as far as photography is concerned.

By the way, This had to be done twice, when developing and printing, with a
pretty much hit or miss method, with really nasty chemicals, even in the
old days. There was no element of KISS about it, it was hard difficult
work, and any correction was a major PITA!

Cheers
Jayanand
