OK, let me be the spoiler. Other than a once a year romp exercising your
LTM body why would you use one of these? If you are on a budget the
various Canon's are cheaper and far easier to load. If you are a shooter a
beat up M3 can be had at under 1K US and is a far easier camera to focus
and use.

My real point is for the periodic experience of using the camera HCB used
all you need is to cut a few rolls 7-8 sprocket holes back and go have
fun. No need to worry about TSA and scissors or knives causing delay. And
in complete disclosure I do very occasionally take my F, IIIF BD, Canon
IVb, Canon 7 out to play: although I won't pay for another CLA as the
shutter dries out again and the slow speeds go off again.

To be very clear there are a number of examples on the web showing exactly
what the old leaders looked like so trimming a roll to a rough
approximation of that profile is not difficult. My experience is that if
you get the trimmed part under 50% of the height of the film you are good
to load. Several decades ago on this list we had discussions about the
various ways people loaded their cameras. A rough consensus was to us B on
the second or third wind from loading to confirm film transport and
flatness without the lens on.

All the best
