However, in real use and with standard development Plus-X was about double box speed (50 was really about 100), as was Tri-X (200 was 400). Kodak and other manufacturers of black and white negative film all underestimated speed by about a stop, and around 1957 film manufacturers adjusted stated film speeds to reflect reality.
