But I never thought about using extra gear as such. I just attached new bits and pieces and went into assignment battle looking for better and different images. Before I might see any "on film results" I might be on an assignment for a couple of weeks before I returned home. My attitude always? I "WAS USING THE BEST GEAR (LEICA's") IN THE WORLD!!! Why worry just get out there and shoot the pictures!" However today's gear??????? I'd require an electronics course in camera gear!!!!! :-) cheers, ted -----Original Message----- From: LUG [mailto:lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Jim Nichols Sent: January-25-18 10:10 PM To: Leica Users Group Subject: Re: [Leica] [OM] IMG: Learning to Use the Shoulder Stock Thanks, Nathan. The local utility (electricity and water) authority ran it that way in the existing parts of town, because they already had poles and Right of Way. I think that any new expansion of electricity and fiber is probably underground. Jim Nichols Tullahoma, TN USA On 1/25/2018 11:25 PM, Nathan Wajsman wrote: > You are doing well with the new tool. And, the 150-ft section of expensive fiber had to be replaced, resulting in two expensive and time-consuming splices. Here is one of the two splice boxes, where each of the individual fibers had to be spliced to a replacement cable. >> >> http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/20180125-DSCF6130.JPG.html >> >> Since extra cable was required in order to do the splicing at ground level, the extra cable had to be secured when the job was done. Because the fiber cable requires a fairly large bend radius, the bend must be secured carefully. I see quite a few of these as I drive around town. >> >> http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/20180125-DSCF6129.JPG.html >> >> The stock makes the heavy lens a lot more manageable. >> >> -- >> Jim Nichols >> Tullahoma, TN USA >> >> -- >> _________________________________________________________________ >> Options: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/listinfo/olympus >> Archives: http://lists.thomasclausen.net/mailman/private/olympus/ >> Themed Olympus Photo Exhibition: http://www.tope.nl/ >> > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information > _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
