[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]There are basically 2 schools of thought.. those makers that make really good algorithms for noise reduction and have Image Stabilization, and therefore do not NEED to get buyers to pony up for really really fast expensive glass, and those manufacturers that have made the majority of their money by offering really really fast lenses, and therefore have no reason to put R+D into make good algorithms for noise reduction. Yes, it is fun to shoot an F0.95 lens in the dark and get a working image. Yes, it is fun to use a Nikon camera with less good glass, but pay 1/10 of the Leica glass price and weight, and get basically the same image. I have said it before, Leica makes money on the glass, not the body. Why would they cut off their cash cow?
