It appears that M cameras have been plague by sensor problems and is likely to continue that way. So I never bought a digital M camera and not likely would. I still use M film cameras but that is another story. But I still like Leica optics and brand name (for some low down bragging rights and cult behavior too). I bought my VLux-4 three years ago and carry this camera when I travel all over the world. With a zoom of 24-600mm (35mm film equivalent) and fixed aperture of 2.8, costing about SGD$1,400 at that time, it's given me a lot of images to enjoy. And it's never been sick a day or admitted to to Leica hospital. So in short, I am not going to give up on Leica, but I choose their cameras that gives value for my shekels. Bests Dan K.
