He is also not constrained by location, as a photographer is, so by definition his canvas of subject matter is infinitely greater. They are similar, but at the same time, quite dissimilar arts. Like Shakespeare said in A Midsummer's Night Dream, about a poet, but equally applicable to a painter - but not a photographer: And as imagination bodies forth The forms of things unknown, the poet's pen Turns them to shapes and gives to airy nothing A local habitation and a name.
