The first one ?A Bar? it seems to me that the blacks are blocked and there is no difference in the shadow zones or very small. The second one ?A couple?? is fantastic?, I really love it! it could be a HCB or Doisneau pic, the B&W values are perfect too for me. The night views are excellent too, really nice! I want explain my latest experience, I only shoot what I think is ?true B&W film? ? say HP5, FP4, Tri X?., my latest experiences have made my preferences for Ilford, some people has said me that the quality of the emulsions are any more as they was for Tri X. One year ago I?ve tried several Labs but I was always unhappy and finally decided develop again myself and I have to say, I?m happy. I was tried once the Lab provide me a scanned film in Tiff, I was absolutely disappointed, the shadows was completely blocked and now I continue scanning myself. I use Vuescan and I highly recommend you it because I get DNG files from my scanning and my process is the same as I do with digital, my files are about 5000 px larger side and 34 MB at 16 bpi. The only problem I have to solve is the water quality, I get negatives with many spots, I will develop my next batch with distilled water on all the process. We have saw the latest work from Gerry, using again film, I have to say that for me the film give the best B&W at least for my own preferences, the Monochrome is very nice, but not the same ? Thanks for sharing your experiences!
