I regret that comments stirred by images on the list are found offensive by some. However, almost every social thing we do in life is political, and photography is no exception. One of the most political images of the past year was the dead child on the beach. Expecting people to just comment on its composition, sharpness, bokeh, etc is somewhat optimistic when the main driver might be its social and political comment on the status quo, and the impact the image has on that status quo. Images are taken to stir responses. BTW I didn't mention throwing buckets of blood, but pouring buckets of red coloured liquid... and as for foreigners dabbling in other countries' firearm policies, well, US administrations have a long history of that themselves :-) Maybe, the Orlando shootings were almost parochial for me as one of my younger brothers has a couple of properties there. Anyway, sorry if I upset anyone. Douglas
