Hi Douglas,
As you say, 
" Water, women, drums, noise, competitive intensity, and odd looking boats -
what's not to like?"

And if you are in one of the photo-media boats on the water it truly is
magical because all the noise is transmitted through the water and boat
hull, you almost want to start paddling yourself! :-) Beats the hell out of
your 400mm f2.8 if you do!!  ;-)
