We had a cat that jumped 8 feet straight up in the air to snag a bat circling our porch light. I saw it. Sitting below the light, head moving about watching, then hunch down and spring straight up. That was back in the late 60's. I still have that bat in a jar with formaldehyde or alcohol. The budding science teacher in me just had to have it in my collection.
