Even thought the people in Iran may be friendly, the people with whom you will deal on arrival are representatives of a brutal dictatorship, even if it is in the process of becoming a bit more domesticated. And they may well be suspicious and give you problems if you appear to be a professional photographer. I would keep it to two bodies as Ted suggests (in fact, if you think it is sufficiently reliable, then I would go with just the M240). Also, I would not take copies of the book as someone suggested. You want to look like ordinary tourists, not photojournalists.
