Nikon seems to have dropped off, due primarily due to poor customer support and some issues with AF in the early days of AF and digital. i personally prefer Nikon over Canon, and my DSLR gear is now Nikon, but still use my Leica rangefinders. I reluctantly sold my Leica R gear a couple of months ago, but did retain 2 lenses to be converted to Nikon mount.
