You start by opening the System Preferences icon (the one with the gear) and then open the Display icon. When that opens, choose Color. At that point several LCD calibrations show up. Start by selecting the one labelled Calibrate and follow the instructions. You can change display temperature, brightness, etc. and save the results as a new LCD calibration.
