It was so bad that when my late wife, born in Wisconsin, was in the fourth grade, she had to serve as "interpreter" between her teacher and children of the Yankee engineers who built a munitions plant in our area (1942). I gave that paragraph as background, because, on the farm, aside from a wood-burning fireplace, the only light we had was from oil lamps, though not those that you pictured. We referred to those as lanterns. Our "oil lamps" were of this type. This one is a mantle decoration most of the time, but has been used during electrical outages. http://www.gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/P5174633+FM_filtered.jpg.html Not picking on you, just trying to spread the light. :-) Jim Nichols Tullahoma, TN USA On 5/17/2015 9:36 AM, Gerry Walden wrote: > Just resurrected this in b&w using SEP2 - hope you like it: > > http://gerrywalden.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Black-White-Mono/G0000907QnILyMI8/I0000ZnUBVhBagfg# > > <http://gerrywalden.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/Black-White-Mono/G0000907QnILyMI8/I0000ZnUBVhBagfg#> > > Gerry > > Gerry Walden > 023 8046 3076 > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >
