My threat of smashing it to pieces on the front steps of LEICA CANADA before a multitude of media alerted to be there and TV and stills guys publicly recording the destruction. The day of the event...... I had given them an option: A/ A new replacement camera body? B/ or destruction before the media? When I arrived early before lunch I was invited to eat. And they'd give the R4 to the service department for another "TRY TO FIX!" while we had lunch. DIDN'T HAPPEN AS I WASN'T ABOUT TO GIVE THE CAMERA up FOR THE "SIXTH TIME OF REPAIR!" IT WAS A NEW CAMERA OR SMASHED....... THEIR CHOICE? What they didn't realize was I had the media alerted so when we returned from lunch the media mob scene was set to "KILL THE CAMERA SCENES!" Salivating to " DESTROY DESTROY!" :-) I was asked to give them the camera and I did. I waited out with the media and a few minutes later the senior admin guy came out with a brand new camera and made a fine presentation to me. Many of the media were ticked-off because they wanted to record me smashing a LEICA to pieces. Anyway, despite over the years the LEICA CANADA crew looked after any repairs or glitches absolutely first class and apart from this one incident they always looked after my stuff whatever, very well. cheers, ted -----Original Message----- From: LUG [mailto:lug-bounces+tedgrant=shaw.ca at leica-users.org] On Behalf Of Frank Filippone Sent: April-09-15 10:23 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: Re: [Leica] How many times have Leica died or will die?
