my opinion:

dada has a sweet spot in art history;
so we can discuss it in terms of cultural context;
as well as historical context;
as well as the aesthetics of any specific work of visual art or literature.

quite obviously dada laid the groundwork for "Conceptual Art."
as well as "Pop Art."

it also played a major role in recognizing the "Artistic Merits" of 
Photography.

the Dadaists, along with the Bauhaus school, also kicked off Graphic Design 
style
which remained with us pretty much up until this very moment.
